Baidu, The Chinese Search Engine Releases Super Chain White Paper
Recently in September, the Chinese search engine company Baidu officially released its first Blockchain White Paper V1.0. The white paper mainly describes the working of 'Super Chain' blockchain network system and its supernode technology.
The white paper released by Baidu Blockchain Lab focuses mainly on the independent development of Super Chain network system. The company published this white paper with the intent of commercializing its cloud service blockchain-as-a-service(BAAS) platform. In addition to this platform, the other six super chain applications which are being developed are as follows:

The White Paper highlights that the Super Chain protocol of Baidu is comparatively more efficient than traditional blockchains. The 'Super Chain' Network System utilizes the hardware to its fullest potential which is not the same case with conventional blockchain. The super node in Baidu blockchain uses multi-core parallel computing to maximize the CPU utilization, thereby increasing the throughput.
The super chain acts as the parent chain and controls all the child chains. The child chains work parallely in data exchange. This parent root chain controls the operating guidelines of the whole super chain network.
The super chain blockchain network follows pluggable consensus mechanism. The root chain allows the parallel chain to choose their consensus mechanism within the network. A voting mechanism is developed to support the consensus escalation in this network system.
The 'Super Chain' Network System utilizes the hardware to its fullest potential which is not the same case with conventional blockchain.
The white paper indicates that Baidu has plans to implement this technology in the following fields:
3.Supply chain finance
4.Intellectual property and trading
It is also to be noted that the company revealed in last June that they are going to work on the Super Chain Protocol to provide a solution to the energy consumption issue in the crypto mining operations.
